clean-up on aisle 5...

this morning i woke up at 5:30am. totally refreshed. i wanted to go back to sleep for the sake of maintaining a somewhat normal schedule but that just wasnt happening so i embraced the early morning. i recently started finding early morning workout shows on tv if im awake when they are...just for fun. last week i started visiting with a little family called 'body electric'. a post menopausal lady who lays in the forest with a friend and does the most basic yoga/stretch/dance moves youve ever seen. its a nice way to wake up actually. not hard at all, and she is pretty pleasant to spend 30 minutes with; kind of like eating breakfast with someone elses agreeable mom. last time i joined her, some bugs kept landing on her arm and i wanted to climb through the screen to shoe them away.

the other show ive come to appreciate is called 'inhale'. a yoga show that truly tests the limits of what should be dealt with at 6am. The instructor is a balding man with penguin style yoga pants prancing around his set with fellow stretchy people. he doesnt do half the poses as he is tip-toeing around his friends grunting, making innuendo-ish comments, and repositioning men AND womens hips almost to suggest that he wants to have a private session with them after taping is completed. despite all this, i like the show and always seem to work up a bit of a yoga sweat. the combinations of the two are a perfect stretch for my first run of the day.

this mornings run started out like any other. ipod shuffle, ugly outfit, beat up chucks. i walk for about 30 minutes to a paseo behind my house where everything has a distinct countryside smell and the dew makes everything look as if it is covered in glitter. there is a lot of wildlife back there and this morning there were rattle snakes which resulted in me turning the music down a bit. after a big lap around the neighborhood, i start to run. i always run to a little park by my house where there is a swing set seemingly built just for me because there is never anyone there. the best songs always happen to come on during my swing time and i usually have some sort of cheesy moment with myself. i wonder if anyone ever sees me smiling.

when i got to the park this morning, there was trash everywhere. alcohol containers, pizza boxes, entire packages of plastic spoons strewn out over the soccer field, bags of chips soaked in condensation etc.

i had a big hippie moment today...

i cleaned it all up. took a good 20 minutes to get it all, but i did it. an older man with his dog walked by and helped me. i ran home and got to work with ebay.
